Jeremy Clarkson reviews the ultimate police car?
When we were kids and you bought junk cars out of the junkyard you always tried to buy ex-police because you knew you were getting a big motor. It might be worn out but you could fix that. When we were kids, for $500 you could get a car with a black body and white doors and no numbers or markings on it that would be only two years old with 280,000 miles on it. But they were fun. Just drive them around all day until you blew them up.

You can still find good deals at city and other government auctions. Sometimes the crowd gets really wild in a frency of biidding. I actually saw one auctioneer burst out laughing as he said "congratulations sir" to an idiot who paid about twice what the vehicle was worth. When I was in my late teens in Montreal half a century ago, I saw a nice 1950 Lincoln that I wanted so I spread the romour that it had been dragged out of a canal and nobody was bidding on it until a wholesaler who arrived late started driving the price up beyond what I wanted to pay.
