2009 Subaru WRX STI spotted at the Nurburgring

Here are the first spy photos of the 2009 Subaru WRX STI. Caught lapping at the Nurburgring test track in Germany, this STI prototype reveals some of the subtle changes in store for this top-of-the-line Subaru WRX. Up front, a mesh grille replaces the egg crate design on the standard WRX while the deeper front air dam has ditched its fog lights and been given a larger center air intake.

Rear diffusers seem to be the latest trend now. The faux-pas diffuser on the test-subject looks worthless as does the rear wing element.
