Especially with this car being the only choice. I predict that 20 million Chinese will buy this car. Lexus can't keep up with demand but they're going to get very rich!

I guess the new, inexperienced Chinese buyer is a good target for Lexus. How else could Lexus sell the abominations they produce other than going for the uninformed gullible buyers. Anyway, I can already picture the disappointment on the faces of the LF-A buyers after they drive this car for the first time. I bet there will be a lot of comments coming from them like " I should have bought a real sports car like Ferrari or Porsche instead of this Lexus junk". Lexus super-car...what a joke.

this is BRILLIANT marketing, intro'g the two cars in quick succession. the LF-A will provide the wow factor, bringing in 1,000s to check it out. (who knows, posters of it may appear in every chinese teen's bedroom, like the Lamborghinis a generation ago.)

people will associate and link the ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY, styling, and engineering of the LF-A AND the ls600. and see that no other mfgr on the planet is comparably competent. exotic car makers don't make luxury sedans, and vice versa.

people will RECOGNIZE toyota/lexus as the world's premium maker or leading edge technology cars. AS WELL AS makers of the most RELIABLE cars on the planet. (as most 3rd world countries ALREADY recognize.)

Bil, AlexApex (ApexAlex as he was known before) has a great point. The LF-A is going to really put a spotlight on Lexus when it is unveiled and create a lot of excitement that it never had before. If Lexus properly executes the LF-A introduction and the car itself, you will notice an increase of the brand's cachet around the world. No other luxury maker will have a supercar like the LF-A (Audi will, once they put a V10 in it).

in time, Lexus will be THE most prestigious brand in China, after maybe just RR and bentley.

unlike the german big 3, lexus has never sold any CHEAP models there. the toyota brand handles that bailliwick. so ALL lexus models the chinese see, are LUXURY cars. NO a- and b- classes. NO taxicabs. NO stinky, noisy diesels. (maybe some limos, but that only adds more to its prestige.)

these two models, the lf-a and the ls600hl, will ONLY FURTHER establish lexus as a super high line, prestigious brand.

Well dont worry then. Im going to China soon, I ll make sure I take some posters of the old toyota/Lexus clones so that people wont be misguided ;)

you mean the various LEXUS models rebadged and sold as TOYOTAs in japan, before they opened a lexus sales channel? LOL!

in any case, on most of the planet, and esp. in 3rd world countries, TOYOTA ITSELF has a sterling reputation as the most reliable brand, REGARDLESS of price.
look at movies, videos, and news clips. toyota --and other japanese brands-- seem most numerous, both OLD and new models. in places where service facilities are minimal to non-existent, the robust, bulletproof solidity of toyota vehicles are MOST appreciated.

for those who are aware of the toyota-lexus connection, the toyota base only ENHANCES the desirability of lexi. total reliability, PLUS luxury and prestige.
