Toyota Launches 'Vanguard' SUV in Japan

Toyota seems to not lack of imagination when it comes to create a new breed of "luxury" oriented cars and a couple of Week after the announcement of their Blade Master, a luxurious version of the already "luxurious" Blade (Actually the blade is more a high-end version of the Auris rather than a luxury car), which received a nifty little 3.5l V6 engine, Toyota came to us again today with another "luxury" vehicle receiving the very same 3.5l V6 engine, behold the Vanguard !

Also available in a 2.4l version the Vanguard offers some unique sense of luxury, where not only the comfort aspect is concerned but also where the safety was a top priority on this new SUV. Like some high-ends models available from Lexus or Toyota, our Vanguard has some nifty little gadgets like the S-VSC (Steering-assisted Vehicle Stability Control), the 5 Super ECT (Super Intelligent Electronically-controlled, Five-speed Automatic Transmission) for smooth and powerful acceleration, as well as some LED lamps…

We have to admit that the term Luxury here is a bit misleading, and it does not only focus on the design, style and comfort but as you could see, also on other issues like the security one. Anyway here it is a well build vehicle that we are looking forward to test drive for you so stay tuned !

Your "soul" posts are getting to be a cliché. Truly, the only cars that have "soul" are models from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Maserati. The exotic Italians.

This is suppose to be the new X3 / RDX /LR2 competitor in a year. I read in a Japanese magazine, the will have an
extended RAV4 platform to be slotted under the RX 350.

Will I get deboosted from lexus fans for pointing out the obvious. When this comes in, they're all going to say
this blows the X3 and Nissan EX35.

The RAV4 is a pretty good vehicle, hey like the Honda CRV, it has been known to sell in one month in the US as much as all the VW products combined. So if Lexus were to do a version with all the luxury features (rear camera, iPod integration, wood, leather, navigation, bluetooth, Mark Levinson stereo, fully electronically adjusting seats, etc.) that the RAV4 does not have then I would say good move.

Some US consumers want smaller vehicles with lots of features...particularly the reversing camera...rather than bigger vehicles without the luxury.

So here's hoping there is a Lexus version, or at least a super-premium Toyota version above the "Limited"
