Toyota interested in poaching Alonso

I doubt Alonso would go to toyota this would uin his career look what happened to villneauve or barichello when they switched to poor performing teams. I could see Alonso going back to Renault!

Alonso's career will take off when he joins Toyota. The Toyota F1 car is one of the best in the business. They have a bad reputation because Ralf Schumacher can't drive for shit and because he's German and Germans hate Toyota. Toyota's sell very well in Spain and Alonso will know how to drive the car properly.

After losing Alonso, this year Renault is like going back to 1990s.

If Toyota pays Alonso a price he couldn't reject, something like $100m/year, he will come over. ;)

Toyota's F1 cars are among the best of the best. But shitty drivers with no talent like Ralf Schumacher behind the wheel of a state of the art Toyota F1 car obviously won't work. What Toyota needs are people with talent and Alonso has that. When Toyota gets him Toyota will actually win many F1 races and show the other wannabe brands how its done.

Such blind faith. You really have no clue. Toyota isn't going anywhere soon not to say they can't improve. Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, Scuderia Ferrari, BMW Sauber, Renault, and even customer team Williams trounce Toyota in Mechanical grip, Aero grip, Aerodynamics in general, HP, Topspeed, high and low speed handling, and list goes on. Toyota is not first rate they are third pack. They have a lot to accomplish in the coming years. While receiving a proven driver may help them out they will not be in winning form on this alone in 2008.
For everyone else, Career Suicide for Alonso to go their, I think not. Michael Schumacher did it with Ferrari so why wouldn't Alonso be able to do it with Toyota. It's just going to take a while. Is Alonso better off staying with McLaren if he wants another championship soon, definitely. Although that will still be a fight unless Lewis keeps having bad luck and structural failures.

He's better off going back to Renault. It will be all over in Toyota because he doesn’t have the work ethic / maturity to develop a bottom of the pack team like Toyota who's problem isn't just speed (they've shown speed on occasion and they have lots of cash), but reliability and clear lack of racing expertise is the problem. They've had reliability issues over the past few years (what jalopies!), and their aero package / design is non-existent. When the factory team is being trounced by a non factory team using the same engine, you've got a big problem. They got rid of Tomita San whose management style "could" have been clashing with the Europeans that really made up the team so they may improve, but I would still stay away because I don't believe they have a clue what they're doing! If I were Alonso I would stay at Mclaren, stop whining about the car, and get to work! He claims he gave Mclaren 6/10ths and Mclaren gave him nothing. What a cry baby! He's part of the team not driving for himself..spoilt brat!! If he gave Mclaren 6 /10ths, how about an additional 3/10ths? When Schumacher joined Ferrari, they were a very good team, but he helped make them the best team (i.e., fastest and most reliable car). Alonso should grow up and learn from Schumacher! It may be difficult with team mate such as Lewis, whose frightening consistency and driving maturity in his rookie year has clearly embarrassed Alonso and punctured his confidence, but Mclaren may be his best opportunity. Renault his next best choice! They’re no spots in Ferrari or BMW!!!!
I can't help but wonder about his maturity and long term commitment when things are not going his way!! That said this has been the best F1 season in recent memory. 4 drivers in contention, a Rookie outperforming a 2 time world champion and leading the championship, the Ice-man's thermostat a little off this year, off track and on track drama etc.. just love it, and may the best man win!!!!!. He's my prediction. If the Ferrari's advantage over the next few race tracks continues, the Ice-man will win, and Lewis will be second. If the Mclarens can hang in there over th next few races that do not favor their setup, it will be Lewis 1st and Alonso 2nd.
Regarding constructors, if Mclarens lose the FIA appeal, Ferrari should win. If they don't Mclarens would win..unless the cry-baby (Alonso) pees in his pant...sorry racing suit under pressure in the final race. I used to like this guy a lot..what a difference a season makes..
