Chrysler confirms SRT-8 Challenger

I am saving my money for the SRT-8.

Its like owning a original muscle car from the
60's-70's but with brand new technologies.

This car will take value with time.

Its a classic!

Having made its debut so long ago as a concept, my desire for this vehicle has somewhat diminished... Still cool but -

Why such a horrendously long development period?

Probably has somehting to do with the stae of flux that Chryco. is in right, now that they are in divorce procedings with Daimler . Saw this car at the Chicago auto show during it's debut . Not quite as overdone looking as the new Camaro that is soon to be released. . I would say it was a 50/50 split as far as crowd gatherings for the Challenger and the Camaro during the show and rather large ones too

Will this car be enviromentally correct?
Will it get 35+ hwy mpg?
Will it pass the Euro C02 standards?
Will it be a danger to the avg. pedestrian?

Do I care?
Hell NO!! I can't wait to take this beast out and break it loose in 1st through 3rd gears and try a few power slides around my favorite curves.
I'm selling my underpowered 330i BMW and buy one of these brutes as soon as I can put down a deposit!

The LX has been a competent platform for Chrysler. Waiting to see how the LY measures up. Wonder if it will just be a W211 Mercedes chassis in drag and hence the reason for the wait. Mercedes still needs to switch over to the W212.
