Sad news about the engine staying the same. They need an Si version badly.

If only the Japanese would introduce diesel variants.

Here in Australia, the Golf TDi is selling like hotcakes.
It has totally dominated the small diesel car market.

But the Japanese are following the Hybrid method, which is very dissapointing.

I believe Honda will be among the first out of the Japanese to start offering more diesels. A diesel Fit would be perfect for the European and Australian markets.

I thought they had a diesel fit in EU countries.

the only hondas getting a hybrid are probably the civic and fit. the diesel strategy honda is planning goes from accord into its suvs and vans.

The FIT was getting old back in 2005 when I lived in Okinawa...

Sure, it's an O.K. little runabout, but there are far more modern/thrilling choices available these days.

This info appears to be the 1st generation 2008 Fit for the US market. I expect to see more changes as seen on vtec.net to the 2nd generation Fit/Jazz that will be introduced this Fall in Japan.
