Lotus to build new Esprit and a 2+2 coupe

Lotus CEO Mike Kimberley, admitted in an interview for EVO website that two new projects are going to become reality due to the fact the the financial problems that were in the past dissapeared.

I hope that past financial problems are truly gone, as those limitations had clearly impacted several Lotus vehicles in years past. Let's hope Lotus ushers in an era of more refined vehicles in terms of NVH, value, and durability.

One thing that Lotus should NEVER change is its ardent pursuit of Colin Chapman's clear vision: automotive minimalism. He demonstrated again and again that the best SPORTS car is the lightest, best balanced, most straightforward car. Even today sports car manufacturers mistakenly think that power and complex wizardry trumps light weight -- and in the end, the diminutive Lotii typically showed them up on the track.
