Tribeca Sales Not Enough To Stop Subaru Sales From Dropping 7% in August
Subaru of America, Inc. today reported August sales of 16,573 total units. Sales of the redesigned 2008 Subaru Tribeca were up 33 percent from the same month last year.

“We are pleased to see sales of the redesigned 2008 Subaru Tribeca up one-third over last year,” said Tim Colbeck, vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc. “With more style, more power and enhanced fuel efficiency, our customers are finding the new Tribeca a tremendous value in the marketplace.”

Subaru Tribeca sales posted 1,835 units in August. Subaru Legacy recorded 6,432 unit sales, while the Outback accounted for 4,448 units of that line for the month. Subaru Forester recorded an August total of 3,902 units, while the Subaru Impreza line posted 4,393 units for the month. The discontinued Subaru Baja also recorded 11 units in August.

It's all good. Maybe the new Imprezas will help out. Especially with that corny trade-in program they got goin on. Whatever it takes I guess.

I live in a cold climate and that is why the Tribeca is on my shopping list. I only wish that Subaru would have offered an optional rear LSD as that would make the Tribeca's AWD system that much more effective. As for the South-West, my leased Audi A6 Quattro saved my ass late last February, when I got caught in a freak winter snow storm at about 8,000 feet in northern Arizona, coming back from the Grand Canyon.

Yes it is. I've seen it and the new style really grows on you. Also the 2008 WRX doors have proper window frames. Lack of leather seats is about my only concern.

BECAUSE THEIR CARS ARE UGLY AS SIN!

Seriously, when's the last time a subaru past you and you though, wow, what a fine piece of automobile that is.

That's right...

Beauty is only skin deep and it is in the eye of the beholder. Who else makes cars with AWD standard on all models and whose engines are always in the inherently balanced H configuration?

who also offers the most capable small suv like the forester? engine w/ low center of gravity, great handling, and functional. too bad the legacy wgn is gone for the USDM.
