Yeah because Lexus and Toyota were not included. Maybe Honda was dumped too. Those German cars were "reliable" when they competed against other European junk. So basically a BMW breaking down 45 times in a month is considered reliable when compared to an Audi which breaks down maybe 70 times a month. Simple math.

Very true, on average my BMW breaks down twice every time I try to drive it somewhere, as does every other BMW. Yet this survey compiled from actual breakdowns by the leading breakdown service in Germany tries to tell me otherwise? Lies, damn lies I say... lol.

According to all the nay sayers on this post, this isn't a fair or reliable article because it's from a German Automotive Club? Well according to all of you if the AAA compiled all their assistance data and it showed that American Cars had less breakdowns they'd be lying too. Well that's just BS. Statistics and facts are just what they are. AAA doesn't care who is more reliable so why would this Auto Club care!!? Who really cares anyway, Reliability is in the hand of the key holder and if your car doesn't have issues than it's the most reliable (Like my 2003 Mazda6, 1996 328I, 1988 Celica and even the 1991 Dodge Spirit)!!

This survey is actually a more reliable way of determining a cars reliability than a JD Power or Consumer Reports survey because its compiled from actual breakdowns, and takes the owners own pre-conceived notions of how reliable the car should have been out of it. This is hard data of which cars broke down the least, not some list compiled from people posting in questionares.
