Official pics of the Saab 9-3 Turbo X

Saab will be using the backdrop of this week’s Frankfurt Motor Show to debut the new 9-3 Turbo X, which also coincides with the 30th anniversary of the launch of its first turbocharged model, the 99 Turbo. The car will be differentiated from the regular 9-3 stable thanks to unique aero parts including a new front bumper, rear diffuser and bootlid spoiler. Other noticeable features include 18in wheels shod with 235mm rubber and chunky 345mm brake discs up front.

So they took the 9-3, best looking Saab ever, and made it look more like the 9-5. Now this turbo version. Still, nothing really new or exciting.

What is the story with Saab? Is it Jaguar's "cant evolve without losing identity" syndrome or do they have absolutely no money for R&D?

good looking car especially the side pic, but im not sure why you think that the 9-3 in the first place didnt lose its identity, they took saabs uniqueness away and made the 9-3 into a bland could be anything alleged sport sedan. this new model at least gives some of the quirkiness/unique styling and details of previous saabs including the 9-5 back without jumping off the deep end

It looks bland, ugly, and like a subaru legacy...
