2007 Frankfurt Auto Show Photos now live! BMW get's the early lead out of the gates!
It’s been an exciting last few days building up to the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show but it is finally here!

Agent 001 and 00Z have been busily combing the show to get you the best photos of all the new vehicles here in Frankfurt.

So far, BMW has stolen the show with the introduction of the new X6 SAV’s and their efficient dynamics based cars.

The new X6 is one beautiful beast in person and is much larger in person than the photos make it appear.

It has an ominous presence.

It was also great to be surprised with the hybrid version.

I also really liked the 1-Series coupe (A LOT) and were happy to report, that there is plenty of room for drivers that are 6 feet plus like ourselves.

You’ll see for yourself in the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show photo gallery which is now live!

Keep checking back regularly, as we will be adding tons of photos over the next two days.

Enjoy the best photo coverage of the 2007 Frankfurt auto show.

This year's gallery is sponsored by our friends at Texaco. Special thanks to them!

I'll take one X6 as well please. One of the best looking Beemers I've seen in years, finally a true competitors to the FX.

The X6 doesn't look so bad now, all those spy pics of it didn't really do it justice.

very much like both the X6 and the 1-series.

i think the X6 will do well with people who need some of the versatility of an SUV but still want something that's sexy and fun-to-drive.

the 1-series will sell in HUGE volume. it's a sharp little car that--by combining BMW handling with the wonderful 3-series powerplants--should be a little rocket.

Yes, so long as the X6 is priced like an FX, it will take over market share real fast. However, if it's priced at > $60k, forget about it.

"i think the X6 will do well with people who need some of the versatility of an SUV but still want something that's sexy and fun-to-drive."

That's exactly what my wife wants in an SUV. How is the trunk space, 001? The rear seats? And how big IS it? Longer than the X5?

004:

it will certainly be priced higher than the X5. and i don't think the infiniti is competition. the infiniti is at a totally different price point and drives like an SUV not a BMW. i think this will compete with the likes of range rover sport in the $60s and 70s.

Sadly the X6 looks like a jacked-up '81 AMC Eagle.
Is this what BMW has come to? I'd be ashamed to arrive at the Ball in this monstrosity. Why do enthusiasts want to sit up that high and lessen the handling?
I do like the 1 Series coupe, however. Although there are rumors that the 135i is far heavier than it should be.
I've got a lot of complaints, but this company should never screw up!

I agree. I thought Eagle the second I saw it. The FX looks more 'grounded', but the bimmer has cleaner lines. It must be the wheels/suspension.

Still lovin' the 1-series, I could see myself in that one day.

I think once you see it in person (X6) you will finally lose that comparison to the AMC. I don't know what you are seeing there???
I really like this auto, I can't wait to see it in person.
Have been resisting the SUV thing for my next car but the Hybrid could be a great answer. I want to get more info on that, definitely

The RR-Sport is still a gorgeous SUV, and you can't belittle someone's car choice. Would you say the same thing if someone said they had a QX56 or LX470? I think not.

The off-road gear on Landies should be an option, strictly (except the Defender). So many people buy Range Rovers and LR3s in my suburban area that it would just make sense- lower weight, better on-road experience, better gas mileage, better image.

that black x6 is horrendous. who the hell wants to buy a SUV with its trunk cut in half! they should of just made it a BMW el-Camino while they were at it.

sorry but i dont see the practicallity in it. as for the 1-series, looks ok. i still felt it should of been a hatchback like the older 318ti or even the z3 coupe. something in that form, but they'll sell numerous amounts due to the fact that it will be the rich kids first car. BMW has struck a good segment with this one.

the best looking vehicle at the show, even though its a concept, is that suzuki. that vehicle is SWEEEEEEETTTTT!!!!!!

I have to say I was not liking this vehicle in its test mule concepts at all with all the camo and such. But now that I see it in the flesh, I think it actually looks pretty good! I am not sure if I would put it as an SUV or CUV or whatever the hell they call em now, but definitely it is a bit of a jacked up, 4 wheel drive 5-door hatchback. I must admit I am pleasantly surprised since I thought this car may look like a dog ( a rat terrier at that) But go BMW, I see another sales winner on their hands!

1 series is going to be awesome, but its going to kill 3 series coupe sales. You can keep up with an M3 for 30,000. The X6 is a mistake, it will not sell in the US, you can all hold me to that.

Yes, it definitely will. Think about all the Range Rover Sport and Cayenne S buyers out there who would definitely trade their cars in for this, because they don't need the weight those two carry.

You have to be kidding. The X6 will sell like gangbusters in socal. With the option of the dual hybrid system-believe me it will do verrry well. Great looking auto!

i think the 1-series will serve as a great entry-level BMW as the latest 3-series has grown significantly larger, is more tech-laden and has become a $50,000 car when well equipped. the 3-series will continue to sell in huge numbers.

the X6 will also do well because many people who buy SUVs find them too big. yet they still buy them because they like to sit high and have the versatility of a rear hatch. the X6 fits that niche and i believe will sell in similar volume to the range rover sport.

no1listensanywayno1listensanyway - 9/11/2007 10:16:32 PM

The X6 is horrendous, I give BMW credit for trying to create something different, but this thing is a disaster. A dune buggy has more inspiration than this thing. The current FX looks better then it. IT WON'T SELL!

The 1 series however will sell lots, killing sales of the the 3 series.

RupertRupert - 9/11/2007 3:27:01 PM

I find the X6 hideously ugly...that roof, those wheels, that rear bulk!
It's horrible!

The practicality of a coupe (very little) plus the dynamics of an SUV (no matter how good the X5 is, it still handles worse than the rest of BMW's line-up) = a ridiculous car!
I would never buy such a stupid vehicle.
What happened BMW? You used to make sports cars, not Paris Hilton's next ride!

this is pretty much BMW's attempt at what MB did with the CLS. they introduced the "4dr-coupe". as hard as they want to make everyone believe, the CLS is no coupe, its a 4-door vehicle a low roof line. but its a hit.

BMW is trying to see if this segment is something similar in the SUV range. i highly doubt it will be successful. seriously, didnt the pontiac aztek have a chopped trunk? and look what happened to them!

bangle must of banged his head on the desk one to many times.

"seriously, didnt the pontiac aztek have a chopped trunk? and look what happened to them!"

This is a BMW. It will sell. Remember that.

It's going to be a high-quality, high-performing machine that just happens to have an equally high seating position and a more useful trunk than any of their sedans. I think it's what a lot of consumers want, and in person, I guarantee you it will blow us away.

I can't imagine how you see that in this car. The LS's rear end is stemmed from the 5 Series, and the rears of the 5 Series and X6 look completely different.

how do you figure that it wont be successful? The X5 is larger and more family orientated while this will adhere to people who want a sportier activity vehicle with more athletic prowess. Alot of people said that Infiniti wouldnt sell the FX, and for the most part it has been very successful .. This will be a better perfomer with state of the art technology. As everyone knows, BMW makes the best engines in the world.
