Video: BMW Concept X6 - The Reveal
Here is the last video in the three series short films about the BMW Concept X6. Revealed earlier today, the BMW Concept X6 shows most of what you’ll see in the production model next year.

When the production version hits dealers in mid-2008, expect engine sizes to be similar to the BMW X5 with a 3.0 liter petrol and diesel, as well as a 4.8 liter V8 355 horsepower range topper. BMW also unveiled the BMW Concept X6 ActiveHybrid, which reduces fuel consumption by up to 20 percent.

Pfft, watch this sell like hot cakes. Successes in the automotive industry are largely judged by fulfilling or exceeding sales targets, not on your opinion.

Every review I've seen say it's breathtaking in person, though doesn't photograph well.

I know that this is true. I can't wait for it to come out!

Don't really like the concept of a 4 door coupe-SUV (or SAV). It looks good, but I will never buy something like this. I would prefer an 530xd or A6 3.0 TDI Quattro.

Wow, I want one, I like the fact that there is no Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, or Porsche competitor. Thank god BMW is independent so they can keep buliding cars that are exciting to own.

LOL, he didn't mention Infiniti in his list of non-competitors, probably on purpose.

I actually dont see any infinite in this. Plus this makes the infinite look.... terrible! (Ive always thought it looks terrible anyways!)

Drop in the V10 and you have an instant Cayanne turbo killer. The X5/X3 were too "utilitarian" for "M" but not this one.

I see an M-badge in the future for this thing.

You know you could be right, Gerhard Richter says that an SUV (or SAC in this case) wouldn't really fit into the M family. If they could pull it off convincingly though it would be an engineering triumph.

I'm not a fan of SUVs, but if I was looking for a midsize, this would be it. I wouldn't even bother looking at anything else, because it wouldn't have that BMW-feel. It really makes the X3 look like a dumpy Honda CRV.

My only question has to be how much room can there be in the back seat with that sexy roofline?

A lot. It's still an SUV with a tall side profile. I doubt it would be short on headroom, and at 192 in. long, it will have more than adequate legroom, also.

Looks like a lot of FX influence (curves and shape). I bet this will look a lot better in person.

Yes very aggressive, nice details therefore nice vehicle. Much better than the spy photos showed. An Aztec or Caliber it definitely isn't. Hopefully this assertion doesn't fall when I stand next to one...

the X6 closest competitors are the infinti FX 35/45, and the Range Rover Sport. The BMW X6 body reminds me of the rare early 80's Lamborghini LM002 SUV.

One thing that makes this more sporty is driver position - much more like a coupe than an SUV.

I like it alot, it kind of reminds me of an infiniti FX model, which I love also. I think this car will do great, it just needs some time to grow on people.
