Auto Spies Photo exclusive: The Spies create a better looking Audi A4?

I've seen better, but maybe he only had 3 minutes to work on this.

I'm a longstanding Audi fan, but not at all happy with the new direction they've taken on the front end. At best, it is controversial. Pair this up with the 7-series rear end and you've got the world's goofiest looking sedan (perhaps Copeland could gin up a photo of such an abomination). Audi should have solicited a few more opinions before putting this gem into production. Or is questioning the beloved car designer like questioning the Emporer's new clothes? Personally, I think Audi should have hired Copeland, and then sent him over to Munich to fix that mess.

I have been watching you pics of the new Audi's and the new grills look terrible!!!! So good job on the change. Audi's version looks like a car running around with it's mouth open. Audi get a clue!

What a ridiculous waste of space - this artist has all the design skill of the Fox Channel - in other words he can do minor rip-offs but not significant new design

I don't like Scott's redesign. It's more like a facelift of the current design. i don't mind the grille at all, it's very distinctive and looked excellent in the Nuvolari concept. I do think Audi could have done a better job matching the headlights to those of the concept car. I also think it's time to design more sporty looking wheel packages. I'm all for traditional (not the Mustang GT Cobra or BMW M3 look), elegant and sporty but Audi is a bit heavy on traditional with the new A4. What ever happened to the fresh Nuvolari front facia? or the Le Mans Quattro front facia? put those in a new A4 and I'll sign up for two!!!

Scot Copeland's touch-up is uninventive (AKA "traditional"), and in my books, that's a lesser crime than unattractive. Let's hope someone like Scot has a big say at BMW!

People on these posts really do not like change. They seem to loathe it, whenever a car company decides to move the game on, create a new look, make their cars even more stunning, people here start labelling everything 'ugly'. Some people here are overly consevative, which is probably the reason Lexus has such a good name here. We know the American car industry is living in the stone age, the 05 Corvette still has Push-rod V8's and leaf-springs, but don't hammer the Europeans for being ahead of the pack.
