2007 FRANKFURT AUTO SHOW: Lexus Sets The Platinum Standard With This LS?

2007 FRANKFURT AUTO SHOW: Lexus Sets The Platinum Standard With This LS?
Was Lexus trying to to give the impression that Lexus is now setting the new "Platinum Standard" when it comes to the LS. It certainly seemed so at Frankfurt this week.

This interesting platinum vehicle was quietly spinning at the Lexus booth in Frankfurt but we real have no clue as to what the exhibit was all about.

But if the the security present at the booth was any indication, then this is some really precious metal!

Enjoy the best photo coverage of the 2007 Frankfurt auto show.

This year's gallery is sponsored by our friends at Texaco. Special thanks to them!

It's the new full size plastic model of the LS for those that don't have the money to buy one.

Just add paint, park in your driveway and watch the neighbors stare in disbelief from your livingroom window.

Lately Lexus has been "seeking a lot of attention" with totally irrelevant things. A concert with LS460's Mark Levinson stereo systems or something along those lines and now this? What's the point of this?

Right, what next?

A Lexus Casino in Las Vegas shaped like an LS460???

lol

Does Lexus actually make a profit worldwide?
I mean the number of adverts I see for them...that must cost millions..and if their sales aren't so great in Europe etc...I fail to see how they make money in Europe at all.

Does Lexus ever change their styling? It seems like I've been seeing the same model over and over again for years.. I really don't understand how one could be proud to drive around in that car.
And HoustonCutie, don't start pulling out Styling Awards left and right, we could do that on ALL luxury cars. You must have very little life experience to have such little common sense.

Now you just sound like Tom Cruise trying to induct us into Scientology...and don't try and patronise people or act in quite such a condescending manner, it's quite clear that you are one of the stupider members of autospies.

Lexus didn't have a new car to show so they brought a LS600 made out of silver cheese.

Lexus really stunk up the autoshow!

Please be kinder with us in the future Agent009. We will let this one slide but one more post like this and I am reporting it to… that’s right… Agent001!!

I can't believe that even the Lexus fans don't know the significance of this particular vehicle. This LS was a prop, or art piece that was featured in the 460 Degrees, a marketing campaign entailing a string of art shows sponsored and centered around the new LS before it was available to the public.

But when you have all the information it is a lot harder to argue about stuff.

That's why so many people here choose not care about facts.

Lexus truly is overrated, Buick is right behind Lexus in quality for half the price. But would I buy a Buick just because of quality and reliability? There truly is no reason I could see to pick the LS over an S-Class or XJ or even A8 unless you couldn't afford those cars and the Lexus was a better deal. To each there own the LS is a supremely well built, quiet, reliable car but I need a little more for my $70k plus like a great drive and some soul and exterior design...

I would rather have the Shiekh of Dubai's chrome-plated Audi A8L, as this one shouldn't actually move.

Now that is a car worthy of a show stand not some Lexus with dynamics that Mercedes worst car would run circles around.
