Spy shots: Bmw V5

Spy shots: Bmw V5
The Bmw presented in the photos has the codename V5. Apparently it looks like a people carrier built to face the R-Class from Mercedes. The V5 is built on the X5 and X6 platform so it seems that AWD system will be standard. The V5 will be powered by the same engines as the currently X5, like the 3.0-litre diesel engine and the powerful 4.8-litre V8.

Yeah,

Just what we need, a BMW minivan! The soccer mom line starts right over here.

MB R-Class is a MPV, but this car is a 4 doors coupé. BMW cannot find right place of their "new" products. Where is a real technical revolution at BMW? Hybrid, fuel-cell... The valvetronic and their diesels are ordinary technologies. Hydrogen powered engine is not user firendly, never come on the street. BMW consume their heritage using old designs even buying car make (Mini).
If you would like to know the real background of BMW products, open a bonnet and check up the finnishing and the quality of their bodywork. Somewhere they must save a money.

I do not belive that BMW is doing that bug to challenge the R class. R class is 6 Passenger car that looks a lo better than this thing, that to be honest looks like 5 series with a frog style.

Hi Rupert. The answer is: Audi Allroad Qattro
http://www.audi.de/audi/de/de2/neuwagen/a6/a6_allroad_quattro.html

The background can be to develope this kind of vehicle at BMW: shared plattform with other model (X5, 5 series) in order to cost saving.

I was thinking more R class but if you include the all-road then the XC70/XC90 should be included too.

Stunning, I'd take the v5 just the way it looks.

BMW deliver to my driveway ASAP!!!

How many cars do you own now, EL34 - 14,324,234? It seems like every time a new BMW, Audi, M-B, Ferrari, or Porsche comes out, you buy one!

Damn, I wish I had your kind of money!

That has to be one of the ugliest camo shots ever posted on Autospies.
This type of vehicle has no place in BMW's lineup.

I think I see the idea -- something in between the X6 and a minivan. It could work if they package it right, with an useable third row of seats. We'll see.

Let them bring this out so they can loose millions subventing the lease or offering huge rebates to sell it out the gate like Mercedes does.

I don't think it's that terrible, but I just wasn't expecting it to be real. This just doesn't have a place in BMW's lineup.

Love the X6, though. Might get one, me self.

This is product is not needed because the X3, X5, 5 series wagon, already cover enough of the wagon type market, they should make longer wheelbase X5 instead.
