Mercedes F700 concept hints at the next S-class
When Mercedes-Benz unveiled the new F700 concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week, some thought it was an absolutely gorgeous looking car while others thought it was one of the ugliest things Mercedes has ever made.

However, Automotive News is now reporting that the dramatically styled F700 is a preview of the next-generation S-Class due in 2012. Showcasing a series of high-end features the company plans to incorporate into future production...

Let's hope the hints are at upcoming technology, and NOT Styling...

The current S-Class, with its Ford Focus fenders and Bangled Butt, is already aesthetically challenged enough.

This may have already been answered, just didn't care to read everyone's posts, but why is their a glass cover on the rear wheel?

I laugh MB just threw out this concept just to fool everyone and, hoping everyone will copy this design and then go a completely different direction. Because the current S-class isn't too old and 2012 seems a bit far away for a concept.

ha. mb did add a larger grille just like i had suggested on the ocean. i shouldve been a designer.

takes awhile getting used to but it looks okay... at the moment. it looks like a large rx8 with a benz grille. its clear they extended the wheelbase by a lot pushing the axles farther apart allowing greater space in between. i mean look at the cabin size and the room in the backseat. its rolls big!

the engine also seems to have been placed in back of the axle which is also a recent trend. for instance, the a4 is using this technique.

its an odd shape but without a doubt a design for the future. bmw with its cs concept has got a lot of work cut out for it. benz is now paving the way for design along with audi which bmw had once been doing. now bmw is almost just copying design cues.

im shocked to hear myself say that being bmw one of my favorite makers.
