Half-a-dozen Mercedes alternative-fuel cars coming to U.S.
Mercedes unveiled a total of 18 alternative-fuel cars at the Frankfurt Motor Show last week. According to Klaus Mair, executive vice president of sales and marketing at the Mercedes Car Group, 17 of the models unveiled at Frankfurt will go into production by 2010, a half-dozen or more will come the U.S.

I'd be willing to put up with some of the shortcomings of the 2008 C-class if Mercedes would offer the Vision C220 Bluetec in North America. I also want this C220 to have the 7-speed automatic as well as RWD with LSD. I'm looking for long range between fill-ups, the simplicity of a strong 4-banger and RWD, and LSD for winter traction. I also want that vehicle to have a relatively soft suspension and avoid the use of harsh-riding low profile tires.
