They can try but it will take years to rub off the Ford image. On the other hand, I don't trust the proposed Q3's Quattro system as it will not have a Torsen center differential. I understand that the Q 3 will have a transversely mounted engine which is the first red flag indicating a probable cheap AWD system -- they should not call it a Quattro.

Dumb move.

The LR2 is already at this price point, and is as far as LR should go in terms of a 'soft' roader w/o hurting its reputation.

This also makes no sense, as rumors were that LR planned on dumping the LR2 in the coming years in an attempt to move more upmarket. All vehicles will be dubbed Range Rovers, still under the LR name as an umbrella, as follows:

Range Rover Country (LR3)
Range Rover Coupe (Based on RR Stormer Concept)
Ranger Rover Sport
Range Rover

This may be a USA-only plan, yet it was only a rumor when I heard it.

seems like a very american move.
im not sure how conventional a Range Rover Coupe may be. ;/
yet the x6, though its not a competing vehicle, give the person who wants a coupe feel but without giving up the comfort of two extra doors.
