Is this the 2009 Nissan 350Z

Very nice. I just hope the interior quality is WAY better than the current model.

On the contrary, I don't care about interior quality.

What it really needs is lighter weight, better weight distribution, and 6 speed auto. 3.5L engine is good enough, but it will be much better if the output can be more linear. I was never a fan of the "swell" that NISSAN tried to sell. It not only upsets chassis dynamic at the corner exit but also break the rear tire loose abruptly instead of gradually.

Looks like a bad mix between current Z and SC430, from the rear.

Yeah, I agree. The front end is not bad, but the rear end has that Buick/Cadillac look from a few years back where they did the horizontal stoplight all the way across. I really dislike the stacked exhaust pipes too.

I'm sure it'll be a beast though, and hope that 350HP makes it into the G sedan.

The 1st-gen 300Z Fairlady still looks pretty even today.

I agree with that, saw one drive up the canyon they other day and thought, wow that car still looks modern.

How about the Nissan Silvia? That is still one smoking looking car.

what is a first gen 300Z. That could be anything:
240Z (the real first gen Z)
300Zx (the first gen 300 series Z32)
350z (the first gen Z after it's resurrection)

I agree with Hyundai, the rear looks like a Lexus SC430. Not good.

No, the rear is completely different.

It looks clean and nicely updated. I agree with the engineers, don't muck with a winning formula.

The silvia S15 looks like it just came out of a nissan dealer, no body would think that it was designd in 1999.

i think th rear profile looks between a sc and tt. the roofline/hatchback of the previous generations look better.

i do think the front looks really good. a good update on the last z.

Those exhaust pipes have go to be changed.

Everything look really good except the shape of the front and rear lights. I like the current rear lights on the 350z much better than this rendering rear lights.

The front light look really odd....! I can't seem to describe it. The front light shape got to go.

The back end is tragic, though the front looks better...

As an owner of the current 350Z I have never grown tired of it's muscular lines and effortless performance. I applaud the idea of giving the Z the 3.7 liter engine, but this styling exercise leaves a lot to be desired. While the front end is appealing, it remains too similar to the current design. In itself, not a bad thing at all, but by 2009 it will have been around for 8 years going back to the first concept. Even the vertical orange reflectors are the same. But I could live with that. What I can't live with is that rear. Horrible. Completely destroys the profile. The designers' task is a difficult one—reinvent a nearly flawless design without ruining it. Many have failed the challenge before.

This is similar to what designers of the Audi TT and Porsche 911 have faced- redesign a car that still looks modern and trend-setting, and make sure it's fresh without being too different.

However, these renderings are not the answer. The front end looks good and production-ready, but the rear is too SC430. It just ruins the design. Interestingly, this artist used the uglier half of the SC- taken on its own, the front of the Lexus is attractive.

I think the rear will definitely be more subtle than this, but the front will be more radical than what they have shown. Just my $0.02.
