Spy Shots: 6 Porsche Panameras spotted in Colorado

Jalopnik reader John was at a conference at the Keystone Inn in Keystone, Colorado, when he noticed a bunch of German engineers hanging out in the garage along with 6 Porsche Panameras. John got off about 4 shots of the sighting.

From what we previously know, the long 5 meter Porsche Panamera will share a lot with Cayenne including the 4×4’s suspension, brakes, body structure and engines. I've seen camouflaged cars while living in Colorado. I wonder if manufacturers are doing high-altitude testing.

I sold BMW in Utah in the late 80's and early 90's, The e30 had a horrific cold start problem, but only in mountain American west. Munich could not figure it out, so BMW sent a engineering team out for three months. They found that Utah and Colorado were unique in both high altitude and very low humidity and resolved the problem. What I understand BMW is now preproduction testing is always happens in Colorado and/or Utah. Maybe other manufactures have the same idea?

Imagine, a so-called luxury sports sedan based on a huge SUV. Ferdinand Porsche is probably rolling over in his grave. I think the intro of this brute will mark the start of the end of western civilization.

I don't know... something tells me it will be pretty hot. But I'd still much rather have a Quattroporte- or even better, a Rapide.

But CLS? The Panamera will definitely fight for its buyers. I think it will be closer to the CLS in price than the two mentioned above.
