Acura considers bringing back the CL along with a hardtop convertible
According to John Watts, product planning manager for Acura, while there are some gaps in Honda’s luxury brand lineup, any additions would have to be in the niche segments.

“We will look at smaller segments,” Watts said at a recent press event. “There is potential for a coupe like the CL,” which was killed after the 2003 model year. “A retractable hardtop, we’re always looking at that, too. But...

Acura NEEDS to FIRE the design/styling teams that penned the exteriors of the hideous RD-X and MD-X before they do any more damage to their lineup!

Acura NEEDS more aggressive marketers! If they want to make it, they have to be like Lexus and Infiniti: try Europe, try Asia. It might work!

That is, if people can re-think of the Honda Accord and Legend as the more expensive (but identical) Acura TSX and RL... when you think about it, Honda has really screwed up Acura's chances in Europe because of this.

BTW, they probably wouldn't be able to call it the CL any more, because Mercedes would sue. How about the TLC? LOL.

In Europe all Infiniti's are known as Nissans and prior to 2005 Lexus was known as Toyota's. Acura would just have to start their next generation models of a different design ,which I think they will. Yes I think Acura is better than Caddilac because unlike Caddilac, Acura doesn't have to chop 15k off the base for their cars to sell.

No, not "all Infiniti's are known as Nissans." In fact, I cannot think of a single Infiniti model that is badged as a Nissan in Europe. In Asia, they are, but not in the old continent.

Cadillac doesn't do that, either. The only car they would ever have to give huge deals on is the STS, because for some reason it hasn't done well. The others are in demand.

Other than Russia Infiniti is not sold in Europe that's why. I never said Caddilac was a rebadged company they just don't sell overseas and too me they look like their parents GM more than Acura looks like Honda.
