Spy photos: Bmw X5 M

We already have the M version in europe...do they mean an actual performance version or just an M package?

We get the M-Sports package. These spyshots are probably the X5 4.4iS twin-turbo V8.

to compete with the Cayenne turbo

Absolutely just about making money for Porsche and BMW.

There will be no X5 M.

Another splashy PR opportunity from our friends at 'Bavarian Marketing Works'.

Its just an M sport-pack for the X5, not an SUV fully developed by BMW's M division.

Yet another excuse to add an additional 10K to the price...

I was thinking the same thing :) It's already ridiculously overpriced. I was interested enough to go spend an hour last weekend in the showroom with one and also a good test drive. I wasn't impressed.

We drove it, too. The 3.0si is not overpriced- it's right in line with the competition. I was impressed with the handling and interior. However, the inline six is overwhelmed by the car's curb weight. The next time we go to our BMW dealer we'll be driving the 4.8i.

The M package version is overpriced.
It adds over 14000 dollars to the price of an X5.
Stupid money for what is essentially new bumpers, no roof rails and stiffer suspension.

And so what, if people will buy it then it's no problem from a business standpoint. In business you either give people what they need, what they want or what they never had if not you won't be in business for too long.

Just shortl after its debut, I'm sure some intoxicated, self-centered celebrity will eventually crash one of these vehicles.
