No, no. I think the new X5 (especially the 4.8i) is very good-looking. But this kit just ruins it.

Seems like you're a major Bangle-hater. You flame the new M3, and now this. They are both hugely impressive products- and we know the X5 performs better than the previous model. The M3... maybe we can wait for the CSL. But the standard model is still a better everyday driver.

Not really a Bangle-Hater, but this generation of BMW's have certainly moved in a styling direction that looks far too Of-The-Moment/Asian for my taste.

Having owned 11 BMW's over that past 20 years, 2 of them being my current E46/M3 and E53/X5 4.8is, I simply find these new models more fashion than style, and as we all know, Style is Timeless But Fashion's Only Now.

I just don't see any current model BMW being regarded as a classic styling statement in the future...

The E70 looks extremely similar to the E53, except more polished. I don't see what you don't like about it. I think it's TOO evolutionary, in fact. Less rubber cladding would be welcome on the standard model, and the 4.8i's grille treatment should be on the 3.0si, with the eight-cylinder model getting mesh.
