One of the most beautiful new cars (inside AND out) for 2005 is the Mercedes-Benz SLK350.

It ESPECIALLY looks good in person (yes. that's our subliminal hint to get you to go to your local dealer and see one).

Anyone who criticizes this car without first seeing it in person is doing themselves a supreme injustice. It really looks wonderful in three dimensional space, something that the camera can’t begin to capture. BobW made a good point. Mercedes of the past have always been touted by BMW people and others as being much to conservative. That conservative look has always allowed Mercedes cars to age much more gracefully than it’s competition even if they looked a bit more bland (or should I say, bit less on the edge). This constitutes the changing direction in Mercedes design philosophy, at least when it comes to visual makeup. How well will it age? I don’t know. I don’t think anyone does, those who do claim themselves as sophists. All I can do is claim that it wont age as well as previous models, but I’m no Ms Clio and I very well could be wrong.

I dont think I quite follow your logic, Alex. The Mercedes SLK's hard top convertible came out before the Lexus SC430. For that matter, the '59 Skyline was the first to use it.

If you think the Scion is better, by all means, go buy one..

If you don't know....don't post! And don't expect the interior to be full of over-polished wood either. It doesn't suit the car one bit. As for the German manufacturers ripping everyone off.....Why would this car be expected to sell for less? Is it because it doesn't have piles of woodgrain covering every concievable part of the interior? Is it because the dashboard is black and not tan? Is it because the degisn doesn't put you to sleep?...
