Rendering of the next-gen Mercedes B-Class

The current B-Class has enjoyed reasonable success in most of the markets it has been launched in, selling over 120,000 units in its first year alone, but the next-gen model due in 2011 is expected to sell in even higher volumes and will be sold in the U.S. for the first time. To increase sales, there are rumors that developers are planning to expand the range by adding two new variants in addition to the regular MPV, a new coupe-cabrio and a sporty hatchback to rival BMW’s 1-series range.

What prestige? Lexus doesn't make trash like this. Lexus has more prestige than Mercedes despite being around for only 20 years.

Honestly, have you really took a good look at the RX lately? It isn't the best exterior design out there. The overall package (interior, powertrain, utility) is great, but the exterior design has got to go.

Believe it or not, that basic exterior shape is making a serious come back. Not since the early Honda Civic 5-dr hatchbacks has these small car designs been so accepted. The Japanese has a ton of them, and I'd bet they're prevelent in the UK and Europe. It would be nice to see the B-class in the US as a premium small people-mover.

The LED lights on all of these M-B "spyshots" don't look nearly as good as they do on Audi models. I hope they're toned down a little.
