For Men Audi BMW / For Women Lexus and Volvo

"It's kind of ingrained, I don't even look at other cars at this point, because I trust them [Volvos], and because I like to keep my vehicles for a while. I get tired of the throwaway mentality in the U.S. When I buy a product, I like to know I can hang on to it for a while," she said.

If Volvo is synonymous with safety, Toyota's (TM) Lexus Div. is synonymous with quality and reliability. (It has won the J.D. Power dependability survey 13 years in a row. See the full 2007 list of the most dependable cars (BusinessWeek, 8/9/07). Lexus had fewer Top 10 female-owned models than Volvo, but the Lexus was the No. 2 luxury brand overall, in terms of female ownership, at 41.2%, according to PIN data.

In liking Lexus, women are little different from men, since Lexus has been the No. 1-selling luxury brand in the U.S. since 2000.

No! Women likes often small front wheel drive cars. They often drive a VW, Volvo or Toyota. Thats cars for shooping. Later they like to drive bigger cars not from the same manufacter. They like to drive a BMW.

Women don't know much about cars so they make the choice based entirely on a recommendation from Consumer Reports or JD Power. That explains while the women buyers choose mostly between Honda CRV, Toyota Rav 4 and Lexus RX according to their budget. In America women choose to drive bigger cars than the men. Most of them are obsessed with owning huge SUV's. I think you are way off with your observations.

More women drive a Mercedes c-class than a Lexus RX. Does that mean the Mercedes is a chick car?

I think the E-Class is more feminine than the C-Class Sport, actually. Maybe not the standard C, but that's different. Most Mercs are more feminine- but the higher-end you go, the more masculine they are. You see a lot of men driving the S-Class.

As for the RX... I would say that it's DEFINITELY predominantly driven by women- and more women drive it than the C-Class. It is obviously a chick car. It's okay for a Lexus to be a chick car, david999. The RX is unabashedly geared towards women.

Someone got this reversed, everyday driving to/from work I maybe see 40 BMWs, and most of them are driven by women, and most of the Lexus cars are driven by men. So reverse your title.

designer .. how many men do you see drive the Lexus RX series? In the US, that is the most popular Lexus and it is driven by 90% women. It is a nice truck and appeals to women with its soft and plush interior.

I don't really understand you Envy...
wtf? Ferrari is a woman's car and Lambo is a guy's?
How can you say those things when there is such a low distribution of those cars all over the world? I'd say they're equal. The BMW x5 isn't a woman's car, fool. The Audi Q7 is a bit more feminine in the back of it than the BMW X5 - all you're talking about are soccer moms who have their rich husbands buy bimmers with loans

The X5 is a total housewife car. But so is the Q7, and the ML, and the RX, etc.
