Lexus Studying High-Performance Hybrid Models
Lexus General Manager Jim Farley noted in an interview yesterday "We may build such gasoline-electric models to reach “enthusiast groups” outside its core market”. Wondering what the first hybrid model of the “F” series might be? That remains a secret for now, but if we'd have to bet our monthly paycheck on it our choice would go to a GS-F model.

Ugh, I hope that's a photoshop- because whatever they did to the IS-F's hood made it look even worse.

"Hybrid" and "high-performance" do not go hand-in-hand. A high-performance car connotes a connection with the road, a loud exhaust, and other things. A hybrid vehicle is whisper-quiet, slow (the REAL, frugal hybrids are) and not much fun to drive- no matter how fast it is.

If they can keep the weight down then it might work. I hardly think a hybrid sports car is a "great idea" though, hybrids should be confined to economy cars in my opinion, the benefits just aren't there at the moment in larger cars.

I thought the LS600hl was them trying their hardest? If it wasn't then why did they even bother making it. Sure those hybrids are faster, but they also have worse fuel economy than the top German diesels.

which German gasoline engines are you refering to? In the market the GS450h competes in, it is not faster than the 550i, 535xi for that matter, E550 ... Why would anyone want a GS450h, when you could get a larger, more fuel efficient, AWD 535xi or performance oriented 550 ... or the Audi S6

and neither the GS or LS hybrid gets anywhere CLOSE to the mileage of a diesel.

diesels are about great MPG with reasonable performance.

lexus hybrids seem to get shitty mileage while not being able to beat their gasoline counterparts in acceleration (LS600 slower than LS460--just check the lexus website).
