More new 7-series refresh pics

If I would have listen to 001 and some of the other comments made by the Spies in the earlier years I would have never bought a 745i. But to resist a chance to make history and own a product that was by far ahead if its time was to hard to resist. Having owned the 745 for a few months short of 2 years here are the results.

Nothing can touch it when it come to the design, performance, prestige and value. I was offered a few thousand less than what I paid for it after almost 2 year of owner ship. Where can you get such resale value. (And no it was not a sucker who did not know what he was buying.)

The light are, to me a part of the evolution of cars. They make suttle changes and major changes because of technology and some time to make improvements necessary and sometimes unnecesary. The lights do not make the car but change has to be welcomed. As far as I am concern the car is fine, in need of very few dramatic improvements as lights. This change should not be seen as a mistake to correct an ugly duckling. I hope the reviews speak well of the changed so they do not have to eat crow later speaking of the negatives and not the positives of this change.

I have noticed tha many mistakes in judgment are made in the reviews of the car industry and many judgments of a product are made all the time but who made the decision to speak sparringly of performance and to make the I-Drive and software issues the focal point of the cars total abilities. The performance was never up for as detailed scrutiny. (No reports on the satisfaction level after these update either.. Humm.....)

In the earler days no one spoke well of the car. Bad design, I-drive, delayed acceleration, eye brows over the head lights, big butt, etc.) It seems that everyone was paid off by the competitors, in their fear, to not speak of the good of the car but to enhance these traits one review after another to no end. Their should be a law that the only way you can write a review you must own one then the review would have spoke of the ture concerns that auto buyer look far.

Today, the car now get the reviews it should have had then. When you read them now you wonder where were these authors a year ago. I have yet to see one retraction of these damanable earlier reviews. It seems that the payment (bribes) to slam the 745i must have stopped, or the writers woke up one day and saw the same thing other appeciative owners have seen all along.

Not one of those 745i reviews (haters) disguised under the cloak of limited objectivity apologied for their lack of sight for the true appreication of what is truly the ultimate driving machine for a long time.

The fact or still standing. Nothing looks like it, nothing drives like it, nothing else get the head turning and attention, and last but not least, the rush of acceleration is borderline illegal to say the least. To those that have a 745i enjoy the ride.

Seven Series sales are in the tank in the US - because M-B and Lexus are dealing big with dealer-negotiated price cuts.

The BMW is a great car that looks ugly, but then so is the Lexus. BMW if you want to move the metal spend the dollars you are spending on a senseless metal refresh and use those funds to cut the price and become more price competitive that way.

You can't judge a car on some numbers. The general public who are these figures aren't car experts! People here give their opinions, and all you get back is 'look at the sales figures! Audi's sales are dropping, they must be bad!'

Who here chooses are car based on how many of their neighbours has one?
