Adjusting satnavs while driving could be banned

Personal electronics are here to stay - in our pockets, clipped to our ears, and in our cars. But, as the number of gadgets drivers use increases, so too does the distraction they cause. According to Spanish authorities, half of all accidents are caused by distracted drivers, and they think the use of satellite navigation units is one of the leading causes of driver distraction. Mobile phone use while driving is already prohibited in many countries. Now Spain is looking not only banning their use while driving altogether, but to force makers of on-board navigation devices include software that disables the use of the units while the car is in motion.

LOL. that defeats the purpose of the Nav completely. In America, the cars sold have a disclaimer at the beginning screen that acknoledges you will not be distracted by the use of the satellite navigation system. Then poof, youre good to go. The Carmaker covers its a$$ and youre responsible for yourself. I love this country.
