Our theory is what we consider the “ebay for text books” Students pay a fee of 5.00 per semester to list up to 10 of their used books at their prices. If the students sell them at what we calculated to be 62.5% of retail it is a win / win for both seller and buyer of the books.
The numbers break down like this: there are approximately 3600 colleges in the U.S. and each college with an average enrollment of 15,000 students. That is 54,000,000.00 students buying and/or selling books every semester. We based our projected revenue on a conservative sign up number of 2% (although we anticipate a much higher sign up ratio)
Based on 2% that is 1,080,000 Students paying 5.00 per semester. Which equals $5,400,000 in quarterly revenue.
