2008 Ford Fusion gets mean with Sport Appearance Package

2008 Ford Fusion gets mean with Sport Appearance Package
Ford today announced that for 2008, the Ford Fusion will get a Sport Appearance Package option that gives it a more aggressive look inside out. The Sport Appearance package will be available for the SE and SEL models.

Exterior enhancements include 18-inch aluminum wheels, body-color fog-lamp surrounds and a unique rear lip spoiler. Fusion’s three-bar over two-bar grille also gets a smoky “black chrome” look.

On the inside the package gives the Fusion charcoal black trim with red stitching. Aluminum trims also shape out the radio and radio controls. For the seats, customers can choose from the special red-splashed cloth seat inserts or red leather inlays on the optional leather seats.

so red/black seats, wheels and a rear spoiler is mean?

what happened to a redesigned front fascia for the aggression they so seek?

lol, another one to go belly-up for FOMOCO

I could only HOPE that someone from FORD reads this....

I like the Fusion...the only problem I have with the car is the steering wheel. It causes a flashback to the old Ford Escort days. Everytime I look at that steering wheel I see Ford Escort...and that ruins the entire image of the Fusion for me. I don't know if I'm the only one but that's what it is. Ford should consider a redesign of the steering wheel. Putting in a more powerful engine won't hurt either!

And ugh, those seats look terrible. So out-of-place. With an Audi or Porsche, when you opt for red (Terra Cotta on Porsches) seats, there is a fine attention to detail, with red trim covering some or all of the door panels (depending on which package you get with the Porsche), color-coded transmission lever and other niceties. But with this, you get firetruck-colored seat centers with fake contrasting stitching. Real classy.

Define fake contrasting stitching? And you are clearly comparing a car tens and thousands of dollars then the Audi or Porsche.
