THE NEW BMW M3 SEDAN

M3 Sedan Comes to America in 2008

October 6, 2007, 12:10AM Munich time:

BMW raises the performance benchmark once again with the introduction of the 2008 M3 Sedan. Sharing the M3 Coupe’s high-revving 414-horsepower V8 and balanced chassis that is designed to be “faster than its engine”, the motorsports arm of the German auto maker, BMW M GmbH, is pleased to offer the most powerful, highest-performing M3 ever with four doors.

The all-new 2008 M3 Sedan and M3 Coupe that arrive in spring 2008 will feature the first V8 in a series-production BMW M3. It will also feature driver-adjustable settings for crucial dynamic controls including steering, damping and stability (and an available steering-wheel-mounted “MDrive” button to store the preferences) and a sumptuous interior that can be optimized to a driver’s desires including the comprehensive entertainment/navigation system operated through BMW’s latest iDrive controller.

Don't forget, the SEMA auto show is right around the corner!

Considering the fact that the last-gen M3 was not a sedan, I guess that would be it.

I like the fact that bmw chose to use the coupe's front end...makes the car more desireable

finally. some pics ive never seen. good work, 001. toot toot.

the m3 sedan looks... alright. it doesnt look as good or as aggressive as the coupe; it looks very, very plain. it doesnt even look as good as the e39 m5 as i was hoping for despite its wider fenders which are barely noticeable. the rear end of the e90 3 series looks smashed and pudgy. i loved the e36 m3 sedan and had wished for an e46 m3 sedan.

it definitely doesnt even come close to the c63 in terms of looks. benz has a real winner this gen with the new c class.

This looks way better than the C63 AMG and even the IS-F (gasp). Changing that front-end was one of the best decisions BMW has made design-wise as of late. Too bad they left the rear.

I agree. It looks just as good as the RS4, though the Audi edges it out slightly when you opt for the Titanium Package.

I feel that the M3's bodykit--and its overall aggression--keep the rear end from detracting from the design.

err whats with the rear bumper above the exhausts...thats the worst feature of the car.

It's the diffuser.

It seems like someone went through and de-boosted everyone in this thread. Except Will_.

Suspicious?

Hmm... ;-)

that dent in the hood...seriously people, its disgusting!

i too think the rear should have been altered as well.

anyhoo, overall nice car...just that hood, i cant get over it

I feel the same way about the IS-F. Why couldn't BMW and Lexus have done what Audi and Mercedes have done? Instead of modifying the hood, Audi modified the engine. And instead of making their hood taller, Mercedes-Benz lengthened it for the C63 AMG. Both cars look amazing- and so does the M3 sedan, but I'll have to wait and see for the IS-F.

I dont agree. Unlike the IS-F, the hood on the M3 doesnt look tacky, but blends in with the rest of the hood. It looks better than the one on the RS4 and C63 IMO.

"It looks better than the one on the RS4 and C63 IMO."

I wouldn't go THAT far. A hood bulge is still a hood bulge, and it doesn't make the car look better, it makes it look slightly worse.

^Although, from the front, I guess it actually makes it look meaner.

It's a shame about the sides, though...
