Toyotas in general are for people who don't like cars, and this looks to be no different. No one wants a car with soggy headlights and a side profile much like that of a fridge. I bet a Lexus variant of this car will be launched and suddenly a new badge and a bit of wood will transform this car into a BMW beater!

Most of your statements are incorrect. A car -design is not signed off days before it is launched, most finalised designs are 'frozen' 2, 3, even four years before the car undergoes aerodynamic testing, durability tests, interior mock-ups etc. For the 05 Cherokee to have copied the H2's rear end (yes, they look similiar) Jeep's designers would have had to wait until pictures of the H2 were released before putting pen to paper. And that would have left next to no time at all to engineer the car. With Lexus, however, new models seem to resemble German rivals of 4, 5 years back.

It can be coincidence for cars to look similiar, like the rear-ends of most American pick-ups. Square, vertical tailights directly to either side of a perfecly flat rear deck, and the number plate directly underneath that. Only the back-light graphic is different.

it is, however, an almost universal fact that Toyota has the most blandest, passion-free automotive designs on the market. They may not always copy other cars, but, damn, sometimes I wish they did!

Never jnew toyota makes original designs..is just a cheap clash of other brands who has a distinct character..
