The Spies favorite car between $40-$50,000

If you haven't already...you MUST go test drive an Audi S4 sedan.

Think of it as a 4-door M3 that is better looking!

Why did BMW not make a four door version of this generations M3?

We think that was a mistake and hope they bring it back on the next M3.

If you end up buying one, get one in our favorite color combo (pictured below), Nagaro Blue metallic with the Blue and black two-tone interior!

It is awesome looking in real life!

Also, check out our article in this week's newsletter that shows you how to save an extra $1000 on your deal!

How can this be a nice car? I agree that it would be nice to have a four door M3, but the Audi is way too heavy to perform well. With all this horsepower, the car launches about as fast as a SRT4! Why not buy something like the Impreza STI or Evo that is much more nimble?

Right you are Guy Incognito,

I should have mentioned something like the CTS-V for instance. What y'all misunderstand is that as a car fan I'd expect the S4 to perform better given the power/price/tradition that Audi has. Remember how the old S4 managed to beat the E36 M3's in acceleration while managing to have equal/better handling and quality? The new S4 cannot claim this.

It's funny you say that Johnny Boy, here are the results from Road and Track comparo between the Audi and the Mercedes:

I just love those lines at the top: "Some may look down their noses at its SpeedShift 5-speed automatic, but with so much torque on tap and the ability to shift with steering-wheel-mounted buttons, the performance difference is really negligible. Its big V-8/rear-drive layout requires more finesse than the all-wheel-drive S4, which is admittedly easier to drive quickly; however, that said, easier to drive does not necessarily equate to faster. In a head-to-head racetrack fight, the C55 would likely still come out on top."

Get a grip people... Both cars are AWESOME. The Audi is even less expensive which equates to a lot. I wouldnt look down at either car nor could I ever say that one is "that much" better than the other.
