2009 Hyundai Sonata interior uncovered

Still as ugly and cheap as ever!

The interior design reminds me somewhat of the current Toyota Avalon. Anyway, bad material selections (too much faux wood trim) brings down a moderately promising design.

pssh, that'd be the day. BMW taking lessons from hyundai. that'll never happen in my lifetime (or anyone else's for that matter).

Very nicely done, making an already very competitive vehicle even moreso.

BTW, these idiots who insist on proclaiming Hyundai's efforts to be "cheap" apparently have not been keeping up, they're doing great work these days, they just opt not to rape customers on price like so many others.

As far as ugly goes, have any of you actually seen that monstrosity that Honda is calling the 2008 Accord sedan?

Easily these least aesthetically desirable vehicle Honda has ever produced (just behind the Ridgeline), and the interior's nothing to write home about either.

Hyundai is amazing....I'm an American buyer, but if I were ever to buy Asian, Hyundai it would be....hands down (except for maybe infiniti).

Sorry though, I disagree about the Accord. I think its very stylish.

this interior is probably nicer than the new MB C-Class. They're copying lexus with their style but oh well, it looks nice at least.

yes, they are copying, but are they copying to the fullest extent? no. lexus will always have higher quality materials than a lowly hyundai. hyundai needs to stay out of the luxury market. they can't come to terms that they're comparable to honda or nissan, not lexus, bmw, or mercedes. they're only kidding themselves.

Hyundai copies tons of competitors designs....but it works. They make good cars (which is bad for us here in the US), but I gotta give credit where credit is due.

they don't make good cars. heck, the only reason they sell cars is the fact they bribe people with warranties. if they didn't have their warranty, no one would buy them.

At least they're finally getting a design direction. This is similar to the Veracruz's interior.

It's a refresh (both interior and exterior), but it does make one wonder how other companies take so long to provide incremental updates to their line-ups, and them try to declare them as redesigns...

I'm talking about YOU Mercedes, Audi and BMW with your minor lower fascia restyles that you claim are major restylings!

Well, unlike Hyundai, Audi, BMW and Merc actually provide useful engineering and technology updates rather than major aesthetic freshenings.

Take the updated Mercedes-Benz E-Class, which came out last year. It looked better than the slightly bland pre-fresh model-- especially with the Sport kit. But beyond that, it had three new engines (E320 Bluetec, E550, E63 AMG) and some new features (AMG Package, DVD player, PreSafe, fancy headlights/taillights for Euro market).

There's also the new Audi A8--it provides elegant new interior color schemes, new lighting, a re-sound-proofed interior, all-new wheel options, a new suspension, better handling...

You think they just wait to unveil the refreshes for no reason? No, of course not! They do it in the middle (or two-thirds into) of a car's life cycle. This is what make sense, and it has been implemented by the Japanese and Americans. The Koreans and Chinese are still at an immature stage- and are constantly revising their products to meet new demands that were foreseen by other manufacturers.

hey, buttwipes. belittling me doesn't hide the fact that hyundai sucks. mitsubishi doesn't offer a warranty like hyundai. hyundai sells more cars because of bafoons like you who don't realize that instead of a wannabe car like hyundai, you could have a real car like honda. isn't it obvious that hyundai wants to be honda? look at the name and the logo. they're a bunch of wannabes who think they're better than everyone else when in reality, they cannot come close to the reputation that honda has.

lexus, we have 2 hondas. we love them a lot but we also had a kia sportage. my dad chose the kia because it was more affordable. it wasn't crap (part-time 4WD was) but it stood up well. hyundais and kias are a more better alternative to hondas and toyotas because of thier price. they are decent too. I wouldnt want one but would recommend one to a friend if your on a tight budget.



on another note- this facelifted interior looks a lot like our 07 accord with different air vent set-up.

Yes, hyundai's styling is derivative, sometimes a direct rip-off (see interior of veracruz). But copying something that looks good, is better than designing something that looks like ass (see the new Chrysler Seebring)

The Japanese were ahead of the Americans over a decade ago, it's only a matter of time before the Koreans truly trump American cars...then, America will compete with Chinese cars...the horror...

That A4 does look hot... good call.

Has anyone here seen the latest consumer report info on the S-class and E class Benz....both are rated UNRELIABLE. Holy crap you pay $90,000 for a car and it spends most of it's time in the shop. I hope MB reliability will improve now that they have jettisoned
