Audi Q5 Spyhots

There’s no doubt about it… Auto Express’s spies have scored a five-star scoop! This is the new Audi Q5, which will go on sale here late next year.

The mid-sized SUV will get the latest twin-clutch S tronic automated manual box. And a new system called Drive Select tailors settings of the engine, transmission, steering and adaptive suspension depending on the mode selected via the Multi Media Interface (MMI).

I expect much better from Audi that creating a profile that looks like little more than a Hyundai Veracruz after being 'squished' both front and rear.

Those are terrible computer-generations, but this will look a lot like the recent concept vehicle (I forgot what it's called), which is a good thing. It will actually look like an A5 SUV- hence its name.

I think Audi should have been first with a vehicle in this segment. These entry-level lux soft roaders are really nothing more than tall wagons good in the snow....quattro anyone?

Although late to the game, if they execute this correctly, and offer a base model that doesnt top out over $40k (with at least the usual cold climate options) it should be very popular in the NE and other ski regions alike. Although it may be as roomy as the all-road (?) it could draw in buyers of that now non-existent model.
