Could the Intima be the next Maxima

While most concepts coming out of the Tokyo show look other-worldly, the Nissan Intima concept looks like it could be produced and sold tomorrow if officials wanted to.
The concept takes a cue from Mazda’s RX-8, picking up a pair of rear-opening suicide doors to give it four-door functionality but with coupe grace.

That is exactly what the next Maxima wants to be.

Yeah, they gotta make more room for the Altima without encroaching on the G35.

I like the name Intima. I think they should name the next Sentra that and get rid of the Sentra name altogether.

From what I understand, the Teana and Maxima will be one a the same this next go-round.

Economically... It only makes sense.

The Teana, Maxima and Altima have shared the same platform since they were all last release. First the Altima in 2002, then the Teana and then the 04 Maxima. Other cars sharing that platform include..The Quest,Murana. There are others in Japan and the rest of the world but i am forgetting what they are at this time.

^ Agreed, but this time, I'm to understand that they (the Maxima/Teana) won't even have different body panels, which is good, because the (current generation) Teana is so much more elegant than the Hump-Backed Maxima.

The Teana appears to be a re-fascia'd Infiniti M. But I thought the M's Japanese counterpart was the Fuga?

The front and rear overhangs are way too long. It does look like an Avalon. Yuck.

Some of the details are a bit exaggerated, but, I'd wager that this is more than a mere hint at the over-all shape/theme of the next Maxima.

The interior is quite striking!

Intima = Menstrual Pad in Spanish. There couldnt be any more of a perfect name for this monstrosity

That color isn't anything to brag about. It's pretty nice though. They should make more cars with those types of doors.

I hate the current Maxima... but this. This looks like some sort of Cïtroen/Infiniti/Toyota collaboration...

The next Maxima should have AWD to be more competitive.
