That front end definitely looks like the (unfortunately ugly) new Honda Accord, and the over-all vehicle looks like a high-zoot Armored car for the Bank Of Beverly Hills...

Hmmm?

... Yep! There's some serious Honda CR-V action in that front as well.

This looks like it only took a couple hours to render...I see the front of the LS600h molded into a 'crossover' body. Look at how stark the interior details are...doesnt really look like a concept, more of a brainstorm.

If it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck it must be a Lexus.

If it types out an illogical, corny comment it must be EL34.

Jugnu, no it isn't. Hated the first X5 i admit, but since the refresh i think it looks good.

ick...the new X5 looks like a minivan from behind.

At least the E53/54 looked sporty/sleek with its well integrated everything, aggressive stance and sloping character line.

The new one just looks like every other Box On Wheels with a bit of 'flame surfacing' thrown in for good measure!

As for the 'concept' looking better than the X6... PLEASE!

I think the new one looks almost identical to the old one, but more modern. It's not very different at all. Perhaps other cars have started to look like IT- not the other way around.

Oh please DeHarder. After actually seeing the E70 X5, I think its the best looking SUV yet. Unlike every single SUV it doesnt look boxy from any angle. Thats why I bought one, and now, the old one is starting to look really bad. Compare pictures, you will see what Im talking about.

Relax guys,
THIS JUST IN.....It's a concept, not a production model.

A play on ideas, if you will.
An experiment, if you will.
An Automobile Brainstorm......if you will. :)

It's ugly, yes, but what comes from this should be a lot more "civilized". Any of you guys think the interior will actually look like that?

Most concepts are pretty, well... conceptual.
Look at the Intima. That new Lambo looks like it got hit in the rear and everything got pushed up and forward....

Relax....................shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

It's the same as when your 2nd grade teacher used to ask you to stand up and shake out the tension, stretch, roll your neck and sit back down and hit the books hard.

This is the designers' way of clearing their mental scratch pad before starting into a project hard.

I had absolutely no idea where that came from...

Great advice and all, but...

We all know that the Rx-Series is due for replacement next year, so it's quite fair to conclude that this is as much 'concrete' as it is concept...

Yes, some of the more outlandish elements will be 'dumbed down', but this, in all it's CR-V-Fronted/Armored Car-Sided ugliness is very close to what will polluting our neighborhoods in roughly 10-14 months.

DaHarder,
Clarify, Pollute visually or emissions-wise? Both? :)

This concept is ugly for sure. You are right, the rough edges will be smoothed out.

Wife has a current model, and she loves it, so it works for me (by simple default). I guess that's all that matters is that they know their demographic....Females.

They better "sexay" this concept up though.

Am I the only one seeing Camry headlights? I don't like it. It looks nothing like the RX.

no one's commented so far on the fender having a separate plane from the hood box.

haven't decided yet if that's a good design element. it definitely is DIFFERENT and possibly innovative. IF it catches on.

I dont like it at all. The front looks like a total mess of lines, they dont flow at all. Everything looks like an after thought, and the hood looks like a minivan. The lights remind me of the camry, so much, which isnt a design marvel either. The rear... extremely hideous. The tail lights looks like something a 5 year old would scribble...

It makes the current one look like a princess...

Now compare this to the Veracruz, put your hand on yer heart and say it loudly which 1 is the better looking.

Not sure why, but when I saw the front end, the first word that came to my mind was... "Constipated". Not out to bash the car, but that really was the feeling it evoked.
Overall though, a clash of too many angles/directions
