Were it not for the ridiculously self-indulgent 1980's, BMW would be just another choice in the automotive marketplace, and not some fashion statement purchased by many possessing driving skills are barely worthy of a 1981 Chevy Chevette.

They eluded to that in the commercial I believe, by stating that they didnt ask to become an icon. Same thing happened to Land Rover...become the world standard, and become fashionable by default.

daharder ... that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I love to drive and have owned 6 BMW's. I enjoy them all. I live to drive. Nothing sweeter than sweeping thru a turn, maxing out your car and feeling the suspension tighten beneath your hand as you almost become one with the road. Best BMW i have ever owned is my 2008 535i sport package with the new adaptive sport transmission.
