Ford CEO: Mercury is ‘doing well’

For those of you that keep saying that Ford should kill the Mercury brand, Ford’s CEO has something to say to you. At a recent meeting with reporters at a factory outside Detroit, Mulally reassured all you naysayers that Mercury will live on.

The CEO is putting on a good face. Ford has allowed both Lincoln and Mercury to flush down the toilet by not giving these cars a DOHC 300 h.p. engine for example.

If you look at it Ford and Toyota are like starting to swap places. Ford getting lots of good reliability reports and etc. Toyota is just getting to big to fast with reliability suffering. As a fusion owner I treat my car like a dog it runs all over. SXMs roads are like swiss cheese with so many potholes and my fusion has to go through many and especially light flooding. Hopefully next year the roads will be fixed. The car is really god for a daily commute

I find this hard to believe...the last report that came out showed that sales for every Mercury model were down. Not to mention that every single car is a Ford rebadge, I don't see how it can be complimentary, more like duplication. Maybe of Ford invested for a few models to be designated only to Mercury it might have a chance.
