No. Not Nissan.

They're sucking wind like American companies. This market loss problem is not nation specific but company specific. If you compare numbers to numbers, it is the companies who have spent the last few years building their images as high performance and high utility who are suffering. Toyota and Honda commercials don't start out proclaiming the horsepower of their products (except the Tundra).

With Nissan, its w/i the first three words mentioned in every ad on every vehicle. Chrysler and Nissan don't get it! Americans don't care anymore how fast their cars are! We want a smooth/refined rides; good resale; reliability; and fuel efficiency. That is what Honda focuses on and look how they have moved up the charts.

Nissan is among the losers. With their focus on performance and on large SUVs/trucks, they are suffering like Ford and Chrysler. As an example, the Nissan Titan super truck (the one that averages most drivers around 11 mpg) has suffered a 50% drop in sales from 2005 to 2006. Only the Jeep Grand Cherokee has done worse (around 60% drop).
