NSX Concept could still appear in Tokyo

Following the announcement at the start of the year that the ungainly Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept would come in for a redesign, most suspected the updated design would be rolled out at next week’s Tokyo Motor Show. Not so according to Honda. Since the launch of its Acura division in Japan has been delayed by two years, officials deemed it unnecessary to show a new concept at this year’s Tokyo Show.

Now Honda might bring in the new concept as a last minute challenger for Nissan’s GT-R and Lexus’ LF-A concept. Nissan pulled a similar stunt when it rolled out the original GT-R Concept back at the 2001 Tokyo Show and now Honda could do the same.

I'll never understand all the hate for the ASC concept. That would have made a nice NSX.

I thought it (the ASC) was a very nicely done/dynamic design, but Honda's a very strange company...

One that will place something as hideous as the Ridgline in production without hesitation, but refuses to produced a replacement for the only real 'halo' sports car they ever conceived.

Personally, I just don't care about Honda much anymore, and with the way the new Accord looks (unbalanced, too narrow, just goofy), I hope they loose some serious footing in the family sedan market as well...

Yes, The Acura NSX. The greatest car that never sold. The Acura NSX was nice but this NSX better have some chest-hair because like McGyver, the NSX could do everything, but doesn't have any chest-hair. Porsches and vettes have chest hair, the Acura NSX doesn't.

Agree. HSC is one sexy good-looking car.
It also carries the style from NSX forward unlike the ASC.
I still have HSC as my computer backdrop.

Seriously now...

The NSX was a great technological showpiece, but never really had the performance/power of the better Ferrari models.

At least the (ugly as sin) GT-R has the 'cajones' to run with the Big Dogs.

even v10 $100,000/ + ill take a maserati coupe or aston martin vantage over nsx. i like nsx but over 100,000 its not in the same class as vantage, audi r8, or porsche 911 turbo.

Honda really needs to let loose, they are just too conservative, or sometimes too wacky. They have the knowledge and budget to produce some of the finest vehicles, but seem to be holding themselves back...

Lets see an NSX with some real originality and flare. Lets see some new technologies that set it apart.
Lets see it marketed correctly against its true competitor.

Lets see Honda really show the world what they are capable of... ASIMO, HondaJet, the SH AWD system, the best GPS system, lets see more...
