Spy Shots: BMW 128i spotted in Cali
Two forum members over at 1Addicts have said that they’ve seen this BMW 1-Series driving on the 210 in LA. The BMW 1-Series doesn’t arrive in dealerships until April of 2008 along with its convertible friend. Most likely this 1-Seires isn’t own by anyone yet and is probably just a dealer preview car.

The BMW 1-Series convertible will come in the same variants as the coupe. The 128 will be powered by a 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder engine producing 230 horsepower. The 135i will be powered by BMW’s twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower.

Yeah, there have been 1 Series driving on PCH in Sunset and Huntington Beach. They are going south bound in the early evenings. Spotted the new M3 almost daily for a while. Nice cars.

I'm actually really looking forward to the new 135i coming out. 300 TT6 engine on that tiny body. With BMWs driving dynamics thats gotta be a fun ass car.

Small Yes... Heavy (or at least far weightier than it has to be) Definitely!

Has anyone ever seen the BMW 123D in California? What do you guys think about the red color? I find myself, surprisingly, liking the red color on the 1 series. I thought about the 1 series in black, but the red one here looked pretty cool. Thoughts.

Why don't they just ship the 130i?

Because it would be too close to the 135i in price. The 128i is better-spaced for the US lineup.

At 32k - 42k, that's a pretty BIG Budget!
