Volkswagen Tiguan released for ordering in the UK
The Tiguan, Volkswagen’s new compact 4×4, is now available for ordering from UK retailers ahead of its UK launch in February 2008. Prices start at £19,370 for the entry-level model, the S 1.4-litre TSI 4MOTION. This vehicle takes Volkswagen into a new market segment and has been eagerly anticipated since its debut as a concept at the Los Angeles Motor Show in November last year. The final model was shown at the Frankfurt Motor Show last month, just ahead of its on-sale date in mainland Europe.

Bimmer, if you have nothing insightful to add, why bother posting your narrow-minded rubbish at all? Your shallow remark puts you on par with houstoncutie.

You obviously didn't even read the article, which states clearly, "All Tiguan models will be offered with standard 4MOTION ‘intelligent’ four-wheel drive."

The Tiguan isn't a fwd poseur urban assult vehicle -- VW actually put some effort into making this tough enough for occasional off-road use. No, it's not a Land Rover, but it is definitely more capable than the typical competition in this market: RAV or CR-V or the garbage Dodge Nitro.

It should also be interesting for you to know that BMW is working on an X1 model to compete against the Tiguan.
