Looks really cool from the back, but the front...

Hmmm? I'm not liking that lower section at all.

Although I'd never drive one, I thought the original Fit was a good looking car in the subcompact segment. This makes it look like a Yaris. A step back in design IMO.

The new Fit doesn't have enough windows on the sides.

I wouldn't be able to see out.

:(

I feel that it's the opposite. Too much window in the front. Makes it look like an old Toyota Previa or something.

I test drove one, I almost bought it too. It was a brand new Fit Sport with a 5 speed that felt much sportier than the car led to believe. It was peppy and handled well. The interior was nicely appointed too. But it was just a tad too small for what I needed, hence the Matrix fit me better, and I got AWD!

I think your confusing the current Gen with the 2009 generations.

They ruined this car. I miss the color coded headlights. I always thought they gave it a more upscale look. This new model looks like an odd little minivan. Yuck!

I'm sorry to say, but I completely agree...

I tried to like it when I read the Edmunds article on it a few weeks back, as I really like the current Fit for what it is. But this is just ugly... it looks cheaper than the old one.

I liked the old fit, this one looks like it was carved from an egg

This thing is gonna sell like crazy. My friend just got a 1st gen Fit and she loves it - a huge surf board fits inside with enough room for 3 people! I drove it too and it was very peppy and a real handler. I actually like the new styling - I see it being more agressive. I do wish the headlights could still be body colored, I liked that on the old ones.

What has Honda done to adress the safety concerns?
This car should be scrapped and Honda should build a civic with these utilitarian atributes. A 4 door wagon! I would trade my 2007 civic for one. I don't believe the claimed mielage! And More torque please!

It's too popular (especially in Japan) to just "scrap." Some people appreciate useful small cars.

It has Honda's ACE body structure...all other Honda's with this improvement have usually done better than previous generations in crash tests...it will be a safe car.

This is not a safe car! The civic is way safer than this! Also the civic is close to the same size with better highway mielage and more power. Why don't they just make a 4 door civic wagon?
