Nope, it's always been like this, but they probably got a performance upgrade.

I don't remember the Fishker rear being like this. Must be an updated model.

It's a Fisker Tramonto! Have you never heard of Fisker? He re-bodies BMW 6ers and Mercedes SLs and makes them cost three times as much.

It is from a SL chassis. Fisker used to be a Director of design at Astin Martin and BMW (Z8). Nice ride! People say he obviously used Astin Martin as inspiration.

Fisker is the designer behind Aston Martin, thus the resemblance.

"Fisker is the designer behind Aston Martin, thus the resemblance."

The Aston Martin design story is a bit convoluted and strange. Ian Callum designed the DB7 and was reponsible (apparently) for a majority of the DB9. Fisker finished the work on the DB9 and is responsible for the V8 Vantage. There are many stories out there that give Fisker all the credit for the DB9- which I thought was correct until reading something about a month ago.

Car and Driver had this to say : "The all-new body (of the DB9) is styled by Ian Callum, the same bloke responsible for the DB7 and Vanquish. The DB9's shape is a contemporary reworking of Aston's classic themes, and it's more elegant and less aggressive than that of the Vanquish. There was some debate, though. Henrik Fisker, Aston's design boss, mildly tweaked Callum's proposal after taking over in September 2001."

That's quite a rare car, you should upload the pic with a small story to www.exoticspotter.com

It's always wonderful to see rare cars in the wild!
