Details on BMW's new models

Talk of BMW’s new V5 and Progressive Activity Sedan (PAS) have been setting the web alight for months. Now BMW has announced it will be developing a PAS/crossover on the 3-series platform, possibly as a V3 model. Other new variants in the works include a two-door 3-series ’shooting brake’ small wagon plus a two-door coupe/hatchback.

I am not going to tire my eyes by reading the article as MotorAuthority uses dark blue letters on a black background -- I wish they would change their web designer. Anyway, using the model designation of V5 is stupid as it makes people think that BMW has lost its marbles and started to make 5-cylinder engines in a V configuration.

I agree... why do they need these??? I'm getting really sick of reading about new niche models that don't make sense, from every brand.

I'm just not thinking that a notch-back version of X6 aka the PAS is something that the market has really called out for.

I'm thinking over-priced luxo Subaru Outback Sedan, or (worse) the AMC Eagle reincarnated!
