008 gets behind the wheel of the S5
The Spies are in wine country to get behind the wheel of the 2008 Audi RS4 Cabriolet, S5 and the pulse-quickening R8 supercar. Stay tuned for more pictures, video, and reviews! For now, enjoy these shots we gathered while cruising through the vineyards of Napa in the S5.

I cant wait to take one for a test drive. I think it is a great looking car and with AWD it is hard to compare. I think it looks way nicer than the 335I

Now i'm not so sure about the S5. The real pics just doesnt look as good as i thought it would have. Seems a bit bland. Not the presence i was expecting.

e39 - in real life you will love it

we have had our "demo" for a few weeks and I have yet to hear a bad thing about that car.

Looks the same as the rest of the Audi range, no head turner...

At least looks better than the 3-series. A lot better :)

I disagree. It's DEFINITELY a head-turner. Maybe not in dark gray, but most people would be hard-pressed to notice an Aston Martin if it was in this color.

Cool car, though I'm not finding it quite as visually appealing as some seem to...

By the way, that V8 badge on the front fenders seem very out of place/inappropriate... Remove It!

What would be appropriate? Dub? 22" V10? elaborate , Postee.

the front of the vehicle is very aggressive, as are most of the audi line-up. the rear could of had better attention, looks like its squished from side to side.

the S8 rear would of been a perfect match IMO...only if they could of incorported that design with this front.

overall it is a very nice looking car, but the 3-series coupe is just a head turner from all sides, and i can't help but drool over a 335 coupe everytime i see one. a big seller on the 335 is the TT motor...i dont think anyone could say no to TT from BMW

ONE WORD, FRONT-WHEEL DRIVE. This is not a sports car in the same vein as BMW.
No comparison IMO

Unless I'm mistaken...

The A5/S5 is only available in AWD configurations.

This car is why I love Audi. This, and all the other S/RS models. Wow! It is probably the best-looking sub-$100K Audi ever.

As for those saying it looks too "bland" in these photos... wait until you see one in Sprint Blue on the street. You'll be blown away.

How many different metal finishes can you put on one car?

Not enough so that it ruins the beauty of it.

I've seen this car in person already, it is very nice looking, the LED's on the front almost light up blue in a soft wave pattern. Its a striking vehicle

No head turner?
boy! oh boy! you can't be more wrong, we have had our demo for a while and here is how I sold my first S5; took the customer around the block for a test drive, every single intersection we came accross the customer was saying: "look at this, everybody is checking out that car!" He was sold being a BMW, young, driver.
This S5 will get you a lot of attention, some old Audi customers might not like it, but so far everybody loves this vehicle.
And I think that it is about time for Audi to have attention grabber cars like this one and the R8, because in this country, it is all about flas and impressing the Joneses...

What do you think is better, the S5 or the S6? Not in regards to space (either would be fine), but overall goodness. Price isn't an issue, either. You get it.

S5 is the modern and more refined Audi line up, Ill make sure to be serial 001 RS5. my favorite audi, more than the r8.

I went yesterday and finally got to sit in it and at 6'2" and 275 pounds it fit like a glove. When I get a chance I would love to take one for a drive. It is way nicer in person. Great looking car and yes the seats are as comfortable as they look!!!
