008 gets behind the wheel of the RS4 Cabriolet
Who can argue with gobs of power, great styling, and only the open air over your head? The Spies sure can't! Check out some of these pics from our track day at Infineon Raceway during our test drive of the new RS4 Cabriolet. We'll let these photos whet your appetite a little, but be sure to check back soon for the full review on this ride!

OMG--I think I am in LOVE!
That's a mean looking car--can't wait to see more pics and video!

Love it, love it, love it. This car is gorgeous and so angry. The only way it could be hotter is if it had the titanium package from the sedan.

And Sprint Blue (last picture)! It's still the best color, after all these years.... wow.

Ya, that blue is really great. I was following that particular car down the 101 in San Francisco today, and you could pick it out way up the road through rush-hour traffic no problem.

I take pride in my color! I have only seen 2 other S4 Cabriolets in Sprint Blue throughout the two and a half years I've owned it.

Yea that blue is the best. Definitely my pick.

S4...

I can't help but take note that there seems to be a bit of envy surrounding the fact that you own an S4.

What else could explain all the de-boosting nonsense?

Shame Really, that rather than respect your knowledge of the vehicle, this is the result.

Hahah. It does seem that way. I hope they know they could all get one if they wanted to, because it tanks on the used market (especially the convertible).

I don't care, though.

Very nice - though I find cabrio versions of high-performance vehicles a bit... Wrong.

Note: That won't stop them from selling anyway, just not to me.

finally autospies covers its first official review, and not a reposted motorauthority or motortrend Review! and i know 001 is going to be testing some new cars here soon. Autospies needs to cover the rs4 and new m3 once and for all. i know im not the only one speaking for this.

audiSaudiS - 10/24/2007 1:12:07 AM

the styling isnt as dramatic and more refined as the new M3. the chrome edges on the front window makes the car look even less appealing but i bet it drives almost as good as an M3.

The car is based on a six year old platform, cut it some slack. The new A4 is much more modern and "dramatic" as you say. Why is your name "audiS" if you prefer BMWs?

And unlike you bulldogz, I am not fixated on other posters and do not try to shoot down every one of their posts with my self-assumed "logic."

How long does it take you to figure out that I like BMWs just as much as Audis, but have different preferences on a model-to-model basis?

the rs4 cabrio is a real gem. its limited 1 year in production will make it a collectible. its equivalent in value to the extremely limited run of the 01-02 bmw m coupe with the 300 hp s54 engine; its value will hold.

this car screams drive me up the coast during the sunrise and on the track during the sunset.

The styling is quite bland. Hard to tell the difference between this and a regular A4. Crappy interior looks like it was designed 15 years ago.

WOW! Interior stunning as one would expect. The exterior, stunning as well. Especially in that Titanium silver coulour. And i've always loved those rims, suit it so much.

I think this looks a lot more visually aggressive than the M3, which has gone too soft IMO.

So the only way to get a 2 door RS4 coupe is by buying a convertible...hmmm... convertibles are not my thing but...oh well!

I feel blessed to have received this car late last week. It is everything I expected and more. The sound of that engine with the top down is really something.
The interior is compact. The controls are very easy to use. The seats are fantastic. The exteriro styling is just right. You can tell that it is something special (it is not an A4, S4). I ould not be happier with my choice.

Your opinion is just that, YOUR OPINION.

I have clients who think that the SL//GALLARDO//430 are all chickmobiles and that real Men go for Murcielago//599//Vanquish.......... see where i am going with this ??

I feel they are wrong just as i feel you are wrong, and i am sure the vast majority of RS$ buyers will agree with me.

If you think that a convertible is a "chick's car", then this vehicle is not for you. Having owned this car for a week now (first convertable), I keep wishing I had owned one earlier

xdrive: you are talking about cars that are designed to carry only 2 people (Porsche cannot really fit 2 people back ther)... of course they don't look as feminine, and you are talking a whole different ballpark in pricing too.
Compare apples to apples.

I would have to contribute to the fact that a convertible does not mean girls want it, Guys too like having the feel of wind at high speeds, girls like it more for the open top you see me feel. I for one Do not think that the 430 neither gallardo are ladies cars, but not too many women drive the 599 or Vanquish and certainly not the Murcielago, for the reason of its main power and bred for the track drive.
that was backing my gumball rally enthusiast 195. As for the rs4, Lets see a comparo with the m3 and IS-F already SPIES!
